I'm sure many of you SEO providers or enthusiasts have noticed the recent Google Panda update and their ensuing SERP changes. Well, I have had a few sites of mine drop in the rankings and any drop from the first page of a keyword can spell disaster for your websites sales. Here a few things I have noticed during the updates.
1. Google is punishing sites that copy content. If you copy articles for your blog or website, DONT DO IT ANYMORE!!!
2. It seems that article directories are now being devalued. This must be because again, the copied or spun article content is being picked up by google as duplicate content. This is touchy because good, copyScape passed articles should not be recognized as non original content so the jury's out on this one!
3. The reason Google is punishing unoriginal content is because several blogs were reaching the top positions with scraped and copied content. When these blogs had several adsense ads on them, Google realised they were simply generating an income without offering quality info, so they punished them!
I will update with more news as it comes in, but what do you guys think? Have you also experienced a drop with the new update?
